The following configuration outlines a policy for RTT (Work Time Reduction) days, applicable only to employees in France under a Forfait Annuel en Jours contract. The purpose of this policy is for system tracking.

The number of RTT days is calculated annually and is not fixed. The definitive rules governing RTT are detailed in the employee's employment contract and the applicable collective bargaining agreement (convention collective).

Allowance & Accrual

  • Annual Entitlement (2025): 8 days. (Note: This quota is specific to the year 2025 and will be recalculated for subsequent years).

  • Accrual Frequency: Annually. The full balance is granted at the beginning of the calendar year.

  • Activity Period: January 1st to December 31st.

  • Proration: The allowance is prorated based on calendar days for employees who join, leave, or move to a forfait jours contract part-way through the year.

Balance & Limits

  • Carryover: No carryover. RTT days must be used within the calendar year (before December 31st) and are otherwise lost.

  • Negative Balance: Not allowed. Employees cannot request more RTT days than their available balance.

Leave Requests

  • Minimum Request Time: Half-day.

  • Deductible Days: Workdays only.

  • Approval Flow: Approval is required, typically from the employee's direct manager.

Long-Term Leave Status

  • Accrual During Leave: Employees do not accrue RTT days while on extended periods of absence (such as parental leave or long-term sick leave), as RTT is intended to compensate for effective working days beyond the legal threshold.
