How to approve or request changes to employee timesheets in Germany

Timesheets are a legal requirement in Germany, so we ask employees based in Germany to complete timesheets every month. The timesheets are then submitted to line managers and Omnipresent for review.

If you're a line manager of a German employee, you will receive a notification via email when an employee timesheet has been submitted for your review via the OmniPlatform.

Please note, timesheets will not impact payroll in any way. Overtime payments are only able to be supported in certain cases. Please do not encourage or approve any overtime before reaching out to your dedicated account manager or help@omnipresent.com.

How to approve a timesheet

  1. Click the link to the OmniPlatform from the auto-generated email asking you to review the timesheet.

  2. You will need to log in to your OmniPlatform account.

  3. Check the timesheet for accuracy.

  4. You can request changes to be made using the 'Request Changes' button in the top-right corner.

  5. Once you're happy with the timesheet, click 'Approve' in the top-right corner.

Employee timesheets can also be accessed via the left-hand menu under 'Team' > 'Timesheets'.

Do I have to approve timesheets every week?

No, there is no legal requirement for these to be approved every week as soon as they are submitted by the employee. An employee can submit their timesheets weekly and as a direct manager, you can log in once a month to review and approve them. You will simply need to scroll back through the previous weeks and review and approve (or request changes) for each week.
