This article explores the essence of exempt employees and, more importantly, our strategic stance at Omnipresent regarding their crucial role in our operational structure.

Exempt employees explained

Exempt employees, according to U.S. work laws, get a special status. They're exempt from certain rules in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and State laws, especially when it comes to minimum wage and overtime pay.

Usually on a salary, exempt employees don't qualify for extra pay even if they work more than the standard 40 hours a week. To get this special status, they need a certain salary, specific job duties, and fit into categories defined by the FLSA or State laws.
