📆 Here is what payroll schedule to anticipate

Employees are paid on the last working day of the month.

💸 Here's where to go for payslips

Your payslips will be sent to you by email on or around payday.

Payslips will be password-protected for security reasons. The password is your Número Fiscal/Tax ID number.

💰 Wondering about the 13th and 14th salaries?

In Portugal, the salary is paid in 14 mandatory instalments : 12 salary for each month of the year + 1 Holiday allowance (13th salary - paid out in July) + 1 Christmas allowance (14th Salary - paid out in November). Please note that the 13th month (Holiday allowance) can only be paid at the end of the first 6 months of execution of the contract.

💳 Are you entitled to a Remote Work Allowance? Is it taxed?

If you are entitled to a Remote Work Allowance, it will be visible on both your contract and your payslip. This allowance is intended to compensate and reimburse costs related to working from home. Please note that, EUR 22 of this allowance will be exempt from tax, while the remaining amount (if any) will be taxable.

🤑 Here's where to go for expenses

Please submit your receipts to the “Expenses” section of your OmniPlatform profile. Any expenses approved by your manager by the 6th of the month will be paid out on the last working day of that month’s payroll.

🌴 Here's what to do for holiday/vacation

Use your internal HR systems for annual leave requests (Please speak to your Line Manager for assistance). After your holiday or vacation time is approved, it's essential to officially record your time off within the "Time Off" section of your OmniPlatform profile. This step is crucial for accurate payroll processing.

🤒 Here's what to do if you are feeling unwell

If you feel unwell, please inform your line manager so they can manage directly with you. If you’re unwell for more than 3 days, please keep communicating it to your line manager and kindly log your time off in the "Time Off" tab on the OmniPlatform for payroll purposes. Additionally, email help@omnipresent.com a document issued by a doctor of the Portuguese national health system that confirms the period of sick leave. As per Portuguese law, sick leave (from the 4th day onwards) is paid 65% of the gross value of each day and we need the document in order to process the payment.

🍼 Here's what to do for parental leave

In Portugal, as a father, you can take up to 20 weeks of parental leave, with a mandatory 28 days immediately after the birth, and the remaining time flexible within the first year of your child's life. As a mother, you are entitled to 120 days of maternity leave at 100% pay, which can be extended to 150 days at 80% if shared with your partner. The first six weeks post-birth are mandatory.

To start the leave process, please follow these steps:

  1. Inform Us of Your Leave Date: As soon as you know your intended start date for parental leave, please email your manager and help@omnipresent.com.

  2. Submit Required Documents: Send us the medical certification confirming your due date and any other required documentation.

  3. OmniPlatorm: Alongside your email notification please ensure you also register this leave on the OmniPlatform with any details we need to know to process your payroll accurately.

Benefits Documentation and Application:

  • You can apply for parental allowance through Portugal’s Social Security website or at one of the government offices, with six months post-stoppage of work to submit your request.

  • Required documents include the RP5049 - DGSS form, medical documentation of the expected or actual birth date, and your banking information for direct deposit of benefits.

Please ensure you complete these steps promptly to facilitate a smooth transition into your parental leave.

💵What should you do if you change your tax status?

If there are any changes in your tax status, please inform us promptly by emailing us at help@omnipresent.com so we can update your records as soon as possible. If you have any relevant tax documents, please attach them for our reference.

Please note that if you fail to notify us, it will be your responsibility to coordinate with the tax authorities to correct any information. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

🌍 Wondering about your public holidays?

You should always follow the public holidays of the country you're employed in, so please take those days off and rest! Please ensure you always give a heads-up to your line manager in case they're located in a different country.
