When onboarding a new hire, one of the key components of the process is determining the compensation package. This includes not only the base salary but also bonuses and allowances. These elements are crucial in shaping the overall contract and ensuring that both you and the employee are clear on the terms from the outset.

During the process of adding a new hire, you'll be asked to set up contractual compensation.

Mandatory Allowances

On the contractual compensation page, you'll find a list of mandatory allowances based on the country’s regulations. If applicable, these allowances will be automatically displayed, and they'll have a checkmark in the Mandatory column. You have the option to increase these allowances should you wish to offer more than the statutory minimum.

Screenshot of the 'Contractual Compensation' section. The page includes a header labeled 'Contractual Compensation' with 'Add' and 'Submit' buttons above a table. A single entry is displayed: 'Remote Allowance,' set as 'Monthly,' with a gross amount of EUR 50.00, starting on February 28, 2025, and ending at the contract's end date. The table includes columns for Type, Recurrence, Gross Amount, Start Date, End Date, Mandatory status, and Notes. The allowance in this example is mandatory, so there's a check box in the Mandatory column, and the Delete button is greyed out. The edit button is live.

Adding Supplementary Allowances

In addition to mandatory allowances, you can also add supplementary compensation to the employee's contract. This includes items such as sign-on bonuses, relocation allowances, or other special benefits as part of the offer of employment. This flexibility allows the employer to customize the compensation package according to the specific role or the employee's circumstances.

To maintain clarity in the employee's compensation structure, only one allowance of each type can be applied at a time.

Popup window titled 'Add Compensation Item.' The form includes fields to select the type of compensation (Allowance or Bonus), specify the allowance type, enter the gross amount in EUR, and add any additional notes. Two buttons are located at the bottom: 'Cancel' on the left and 'Add' on the right.

Adding A Sign-On Bonus

In addition to mandatory allowances, you can offer a sign-on bonus as part of the employee's compensation package.

Popup window titled 'Add Compensation Item.' The form includes fields to select the type of compensation ('Allowance' or 'Bonus') and the bonus type ('Sign-on Bonus'). A dropdown for recurrence is set to 'One-off.' The gross amount field displays 'EUR 1800,' and the additional notes field contains 'Joining bonus.' Two buttons are located at the bottom: 'Cancel' on the left and 'Add' on the right

Reviewing the Contract

Once you submit the details, you’ll be redirected to the employee’s profile, where a draft contract will be generated, reflecting the compensation items selected. At this stage, you can review the contract within the platform to ensure everything is correct. The start date for all allowances will default to the employment start date. The effective end date will default to the contractual end date.

Amending Compensation Items

Until you send the contract for signing, you can edit the additional contractual compensation in the OmniPlatform. On the right-hand side, you'll see the option to add new items. In line with each item, you'll have the option to edit it or delete it (if it's mandatory, the delete button will be greyed out).

The table includes three entries: 'Remote Allowance' (Monthly, EUR 50.00), 'Health Allowance' (Monthly, EUR 20.00), and 'Sign-on Bonus' (One-off, EUR 2,000.00). Each entry has columns for Type, Recurrence, Gross Amount, Start Date (e.g., February 28, 2025), End Date (e.g., Contract End), Mandatory status, and Notes. Entry Remote allowance has a tick mark in the Mandatory column, and the delete button is greyed out. The other two examples aren't mandatory and they can be deleted. Buttons labeled 'Add' and 'Submit' are at the top.
