Recognizing Employee Seniority with Omnipresent

In the world of global employment, sometimes clients need to move their current employees to Omnipresent, especially when an employee relocates to a new country. When this happens, it's only fair to acknowledge their previous years of service with the client in their new Omnipresent employment contract.

However, it's essential to note that this recognition might not apply if the hire was initially a contractor before joining Omnipresent.

What We Do

As Omnipresent serves as the legal employer, we can incorporate a standard clause into our employment contracts that recognizes an employee's previous seniority, provided it complies with local laws. This means that the employee's years of service will be taken into account in their new employment arrangement.

A Word of Caution

However, it's essential to be aware that in certain jurisdictions, recognizing an employee's previous seniority can lead to additional statutory protections for the employee. These protections may include extended leave entitlements based on seniority, longer notice periods, or increased severance pay.

Ensuring Fairness

As mentioned above, acknowledging an employee's seniority may involve providing additional benefits to that employee. To ensure fairness in this process, it may be necessary to adjust the deposit we collect from clients. This additional deposit amount is essential to offset the increased benefits associated with an employee's acknowledged seniority.
